Coronavirus Spain COVID-19
Important info:
The Coronavirus Pandemic is so dynamic that I can't translate the updates of the German article text anymore. Have a look at the German article and use the Google Translator (right mouse button)
Coronavirus Spain: This does not mean the famous Corona beer as in the picture in the article. I just didn't feel like using such a beautiful macro shot of the virus. COVID-19 is now the official name of the virus. It leads to a sometimes very severe and about 0.5 to 3% fatal lung disease. The mortality rate is therefore much higher than during the influenza epidemics of the last decades.

After all, about 30,000 people died of influenza in Germany 2 years ago. That is hardly known. Because without equal media coverage, it is simply not noticed. The coronavirus pandemic has now reached Spain.
Currently, on 29.02. there are 50 infections in Spain. The share of the Valencian Community is relatively high with 13.

Spanish health authority
The health authorities in Spain report on 29.02.2019 50 – the following cases:
- 8 in Andalusia
- 2 in the Balearic Islands
- 3 in the Basque Country
- 6 in the Canary Islands
- 6 in Catalonia
- 2 in Castile and Leon
- 10 in Madrid
- 13 in the Valencian Community
The Valencian Community reports the most cases of illness. Nevertheless, there are hardly any restrictions on events in Spain. For example, the Madrid art fair ARCO was held. Astonishing with mostly more than 100,000 visitors. Also the Italian stands were occupied and well visited. Protective masks were not sighted. In contrast, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was cancelled.
At the moment face masks are sold out and there are shortages of disinfectants.
