Topic-oriented, relevant, discreet and if possible not obstructing the reading flow. In addition transparent and marked. Just as I expect it myself. There are no frightening pop-up windows or oppressive newsletter “invitations” here. I totally reject such annoying nonsense. WebSites which use this I leave mostly fast again.

Essentially, I work with the partner programs of Amazon, Google Adsense and a few selected partners. I use ads in the blog as low landscape banners. So the reading flow is not interrupted. Depending on the length of an article, there is one after the first paragraph, one in the middle and one at the very end of an article.

In the sidebar on the right and in the footer there are two or three small square ads about holiday accommodation providers. Or suitable and in my opinion recommendable Amazon books. Each advertisement is transparently marked by the word “advertisement”.

Google Adsense ads

The reason for Google Adsense ads is that they are mostly topic-oriented and match the respective article texts. Google analyzes my texts and does it very well. I don't want you to have to endure advertisements for liposuction or Viagra while reading an article about the beaches at Moraira. Google also checks its advertisers intensively for seriousness before a Google Adwords account is approved. By the way, also the advertising partners – more on this below.

So I can assume that no rip-off ads or providers with fake products are shown. Because of the website theme Costa Blanca it is mostly ads from renowned travel agencies or booking portals.

Amazon partner ads

I can determine the Amazon advertising myself. And so I can only select products that I use in connection with the theme of the website and that I personally rate well.

Here I also often do a short meeting. Especially with books. So I try to explain why I liked an article or the book. Or if there are little weaknesses, which I get over because of other good qualities, etc. The Fire TV STick, for example, I find Mega Cool.

I have bought 5 of them so far. Starting with the first generation, which are still working and in use. For the kids, in the Spanish holiday home and also in Germany.

I especially like the fact that I can use Alexa, but only if I want to. You have to press a button on the remote control first, so Alexa can listen. Somehow a constantly listening echo loudspeaker still disturbs me. Maybe I'm old-fashioned or too careful. But with the Firestick, you can access Alexa without being constantly monitored. Alexa only when you want her to.

Here I choose only partners from whose performance I know well myself and have also rated as very good for me. So for example FeWoDirekt. Here I have already made many good experiences as a holiday house tenant and also as a landlord of my 2 small apartments near Altea.

In such a case I then ask all people I know and who rent your house, with whom they work together. Because there are many providers of holiday accommodations or booking portals. And I research customer satisfaction on the Internet in complaint portals etc. Here it was clear. There were two providers that I wanted to display on altea.me.

Rejected

Unfortunately, one of my preferred partners had not accepted me. Not yet 🙂 I would still have too little traffic was the reason. Since altea.me is online only since the end of 2019 I was not really offended after 2 months. Because for this short time the small site has been developing rapidly. I still double my visitors almost every week. Yes, I know that can not go on forever.

Anyway – what I wanted to tell, because almost nobody knows that, who does not run a website with advertising himself. Not only the website provider chooses his advertising partners. Amazon, Google and advertising networks check exactly where they place ads. The brands advertising partners with high product quality – and only they interest me in your sense – choose very picky who may advertise them.

Affilate / Partner Links at altea.me

Information about affiliate links: These are text and image links that lead to websites of affiliate partners. I mark them with a *. If such a link leads to the purchase of a product within a short period of time, I receive a small commission. Of course without the purchase price for you becoming higher. I use this from my point of view very honest form of ads to mitigate the costs altea.me causes.

Unfortunately, I cannot finance the website with it yet.  But I choose my affiliate partners very carefully. Because I am responsible with my name. Everyone knows how hard it is to recommend someone or something. Who wants to take the rap for a bad product or an unreliable service provider. But many of the so-called influencers at Instagram, YouTube and Co. don't seem to care about that at all. But I am old school. Because I want to meet you openly and fairly. My recommendations travel guides to the Costa Blanca are the MARCO POLO Reiseführer* and the Rother Wanderführer*. I have been using and appreciating them myself for years. They are inexpensive, small and handy and yet provide the information I am looking for. When I'm on the road I don't want to lug around an encyclopaedia. So the short language does not bother me, because the information is good.

The links will take you directly to Amazon and the respective product. Amazon recognizes by a so-called referer at the end of the link that you come from altea.me. I use Amazon because I can be sure that the payment is correct. And that you will receive your delivery quickly and correctly.

Amazon will credit a small commission to my affiliate account if I purchase within a short period of time. As I said, it is not enough for the costs. Because there are currently only few / single digit € amounts per month. But maybe it develops. And it will free me from having to put a lot of money into the altea.me BLOG website every month.

Another example are virtual articles for download. So I like to refer to a download link of the manufacturer of my beloved GeoDirectory*. This is the class Premium PlugIn that runs the address directory of altea.me. And the great thing about it. There is a free download of the GeoDirectory* core package. This allows you to create an address directory for a location. Perfect for testing and for local websites. The whole GD HighEnd power for nothing.
