Province of Alicante – Costa Blanca & Mountains

The Province of Alicante is one of the three provinces in the Valencian Community. The other two are Province of Castellón and the Province of Valencia itself. Alicante is the southernmost of the three Valencian provinces on the east coast of Spain. Its coastline is better known under the tourist name Costa Blanca.
With almost 2 million inhabitants, the Provincia de Alicante is a densely populated region. Also because of the many residents, the number of inhabitants has increased since the year 2000 from not quite 1.5 million to almost 2 million. The capital is Alicante.

By the way, the term Costa Blanca is more of a tourist term. It refers to the entire coastline of the province of Alicante. From Denia in the north to Pilar de la Horadada in the very south.

The Nine Districts of the Province of Alicante

More info: At Wikipedia you will find a great list of all counties. (German Wikipedia – use Goggle Translator) They are sorted by the three provinces. The information provides information about the population, the area and the density. The respective main places are named with the Spanish as well as the Valencian spelling. Unfortunately, the population figures are a little older, namely from 2002. This has certainly changed in the meantime. The total number of inhabitants of the province increased from 2000 to today by approximately 25%. It is to be assumed that the numbers at least in the coastal cities also lie correspondingly higher. Nevertheless, the list is informative. Because the relations of the districts among themselves can be read very well nevertheless from it.
