My Favorite Search

We used Google Maps. From our point of view this is by far the best map as a basis. In connection with our GeoDirectory we can show the whole area of the province of Alicante for overview with so-called location clusters. Here, many locations located close to each other are combined to a pin. The number of individual locations behind the pin is shown. This avoids the well-known, confusing display on the map when there are many closely packed and overlapping location pins. You won't see anything of the map for pins.

Our cluster display solves the problem. You can either enlarge normally (mouse scroll wheel or +/- buttons. Or click on one of the clusters to enlarge the map exactly where you want to go. Now you can already see single location pins and in case of clustering you can see some cluster pins as well. Enlarge the area of your choice in the same way. Until you only see single locations.

Well, I think the GeoDirectory* is the most ingenious approach to finding geographical locations I know. Of course you can choose a full screen, terrain or satellite view. And by dragging the Pegman on the map you can also use the Streetview mode. The cluster view works with all address categories. 😉
